Oliver’s twist

It’s no great secret that Jamie Oliver has drawn great inspiration from the regions of Italy and this shines through in his new Jme range - created specifically for independent speciality food retailers.

Some of the Italian inspired products include Tuscan extra virgin olive oil - delicate, light and with a hint of pepper, and Balsamic vinegar from Modena, the Italian home of true balsamics. These two ‘best of friends’ are available as ‘Power dressing’ – a gorgeous gift ready boxed.

The range also includes a range of three infused oilve oils – including chilli, basil and olive oil – available in a set as ‘three measures of pleasure’, as well as sundried tomato paste, artichoke paste and olivepaste.

The Power Dressing gift box certainly looks attractive, and the packaging has that ‘artisan’ and ‘gourmet’ quality that suggests gastro-pub, bistro-style cuisine. The contents live up to this image, with both products delivering on taste and usability. It’s easy to simply drizzle them directly onto salad or use them as the base for a more complicated dressing recipe, or for dipping bread into. “This olive oil and balsamic vinegar just go together so wonderfully,” said one tester. “And now I have been on Jamie’s site, I want to try it all.”
