With over 700 franchises globally, Southern Fried Chicken is looking to make an even bigger name for itself in the UK.


Operated by Fast Food Systems, which introduced Southern Fried Chicken to the UK in 1980, the core product, as the name suggests, is chicken, which has been pressure fried with a crispy lemon pepper coating. Originally designed as an add-on opportunity for established restaurateurs, Southern Fried Chicken is today a global success story. The company currently has 721 franchises in 70 countries and is planning to extend its network further in the UK.

To aid with the expansion in the add-on market, Fast Food Systems Ltd have introduced exciting new products under the Southern Fried Chicken Brand. This 'Freshly Prepared and Ready to Cook' range is currently available in four different menu offerings; Chicken Portions, Chicken Fillets, Chicken Fillet Strips & Hot 'N' Flaky Wings. To complement this range is also the new Southern Fried Chicken White Gravy.

All the chicken comes chilled and pre-breaded in accordance with the Southern Fried Chicken four-step procedure. It has a two week refrigerated shelf life, but is also suitable for freezing in order to minimise wastage. All the products come in a standard size to make storage in any outlet more convenient, and are aimed at operators who have little or no preparation space but want to add a quality product to their menu.

Another great help to operators is that each product comes with its own premium branded packaging included in the box, to enhance the product appearance by showing a quality, recognised chicken brand.

For best results these products should be cooked in a pressure fryer, however the products can also be cooked in a combination oven, ventless or even an open fryer.
