How To Choose Great Corporate Bento Box Lunches

Seems like everyone in the office is going for corporate bento box lunches these days. But you can’t always tell a good deal from a bad one…

Unless you’re a pro bento-luncher, it’s really hard to figure out why some boxes are better than others. They all look so nice when they’re wrapped up in their neat little packages!

In fact, here’s an unsolicited testimonial from a corporate customer who recently discovered our online order system:

“The process was easy and intuitive. The result was amazing – I got to take my lunch today with me to work!!! Everything was fresh and re-heatable without problems.”   That’s how we know we’ve been doing something right all these years!

Here’s a list of the top 4 bento box lunch mistakes that we see over and over again. If you’re making any of these, please read on for our advice on how to get it right from now on.

Mistake #1: You haven’t chosen a good delivery date in time

That rush order? It might be possible, but it’s going to cost you your sanity.

Make sure you place your order AT LEAST 3 WEEKS before you actually need it. The more warning you can give us, the better!  And if your event is coming up in two weeks or less, please call us – we may still be able to help. We will always try our best to accommodate you, so please don’t hesitate to ask.

Delivery date mistakes are the #1 cause of bento burnout. Don’t let it happen to you!

Mistake #2: You’ve ordered your box too late

Getting an order in before 11:30 am is best; after that, we can’t guarantee freshness for delivery later than 12:15 pm (earlier if we’re busy). Larger quantities take longer to prepare and pack – time slots fill up quickly throughout the day, and requests made near the end of a shift may not be filled.

If you’re ordering for lunchtime deliveries, give us at least 2 hours lead time. This allows for anything from minor delays to major misfires –remember, we’re a tiny company with a limited staff.

And remember: if your order is going to be even just a little bit late, please contact us right away! We have no qualms about pro-rating or adjusting delivery fees for partial deliveries that are unavoidably postponed.

Mistake #3: You didn’t arrange payment in advance

Corporate customers who aren’t set up on our billing system should pay in advance by calling the shop during our lunchtime business hours. Payment plans are also available for special circumstances – email us to discuss your specific situation and see what we can work out together.

Checks? Cash? Food? No problem – but you’ll need to call ahead to make arrangements! Call the office during our lunchtime hours (11:30 am – 1:00 pm, Monday to Friday) and we will be happy to help you out.

Mistake #4: You didn’t let us know your order preferences

We make every effort to accommodate all diet restrictions, but please let us know if there are any allergies or other preferences you need to be aware of. Please speak up if there is any food you don’t eat.
