The Dining Styles And Packages You Should Consider For A Wedding
Food and drink is one of the most important aspects of a wedding day, and it’s no surprise that it’s on everyone’s mind after the big day. That’s why we’ve put together a list of our favourite wedding food and drink options to help you choose the perfect menu for your special day.

ToggleChoosing the dining style
In the past, couples would either opt for a buffet or a sit down meal at their wedding breakfast. However, as more food options have become available and expectations for wedding food have changed, the first option is likely to be the most popular.
Sit down meals
The main benefit of a sit down meal is that guests have seen the menu before the wedding day and have been informed of any dietary needs and preferences. This ensures that your wedding breakfast runs smoothly and ensures that your guests enjoy the meal. It also makes it easier for your venue to prepare, which reduces the risk of mistakes or miscommunication.
Buffet
Buffets are more likely to ‘sit around’ whilst each table takes its turn, so you’ll want to steer clear of fried foods that could easily go soggy, or dishes that could easily go gloppy when standing for any length of time, like risotto. You’ll also want to consider the atmosphere. Buffets may have crowds around tables, people moving around to get in, or queues of people waiting to get in.
Choosing the drinks package
Plain and simple drinks
Amongst drinks and toasts, most couples opt for prosecco/champagne. For the wedding breakfast, it’s common to have a few bottles of wine at each table to pair with the meal. This is the simplest way to estimate how many glasses you’ll be able to serve each guest. It’s easy to figure out how many glasses per bottle you’ll need.
Spirits and cocktails
If you don’t like wine, a basic spirit and mixer is a great alternative. If you’re having a big wedding party, why not set up a spirits and mixer station for your guests to help themselves to on the way in, saving them from queuing up at the bar for their first drink? Or, if you’re on a budget, you could set up small bottles of alcohol as wedding favors, which you can pair with different mixers, so they’re all available on your tables.
Cocktails
If you want to impress your guests, choose cocktails for your welcome drinks or for your toast. There are two main factors to consider: you either have to pick a cocktail that is okay to sit around while the bar car gets ready for your guests to arrive. Or you only want to do this for a small wedding party. If you have a big wedding group and everyone can choose different cocktails, this will never work. Everyone will be waiting for drinks instead of getting to know each other. This is a great special touch for a small wedding. No matter what you decide to do, don’t do it without a cocktail making station with a good wedding menu.
