Why Should You Start Drinking Filter Coffee?

Coffee is one of the most popular beverages in the world. It is also great for our health since it has a lot of antioxidants and helps in enhancing our cognitive functions. Coffee has very few calories if one consumed without any sugar or milk.

However, there are 2 kinds of coffee: instant and filter coffee. Many high-quality coffee houses recommend filter coffee and discourage the consumption of instant coffee. Let us look at some of the reasons behind the greatness of filter coffee.

Reduced cholesterol

Unfiltered coffee is not very healthy for your body since it leads to an increased intake of cholesterol. This is because when coffee is boiled, it results in the release of oils and sediments. The oily parts are the source of worry. They are known as diterpenes, and there are two types of them present in coffee.

The two types of diterpenes are cafestol and kahweol. These oils enter the intestines and disable the receptor, which is responsible for regulating cholesterol intake in one’s body. We use a filter while preparing filter coffee. So, the oils and sediments do not remain in the coffee and are filtered out.

Helps in burning fat

All fat-burning fat supplements in the market have caffeine as a component in them. It is there for a reason. Caffeine is one of the few substances present in nature that assists in burning fat.

Many scientific studies say caffeine can enhance your metabolic rate by a good 3 to 11 percent. Other studies state that caffeine can supplement fat-burning efforts and increase the process by almost 10 percent in obese people and by 29 percent in lean persons.

Less chance of cancer

Filter coffee is effective in dealing with various forms of cancer. Studies have shown us that coffee has anticarcinogenic and anti-inflammatory properties that have a significant role in minimizing the negative effects of liver, oral, and prostate cancer.  It also reduces the effect of melanoma.

You can consider filter coffee as basically a preventive tool. However, it is important to control your intake and not drink too much. If you are limiting yourself to two cups a day, there should not be any issues. Try drinking only back filter coffee so that the benefits are not canceled out when you add milk, cream, or sugar.

The type of coffee also has different kinds of effects depending upon the quality. Distinct bioactive compounds are formed in coffee depending on how the coffee is brewed and to what level is the coffee bean roasted.

Combats depression and improves your mood

Depression is a severe mental problem that diminishes the quality of life. Almost 4 percent of the world has the symptoms of clinical depression. Harvard published a study in 2011. It showed that women who were consuming 4 cups of coffee every day were 20 percent less likely to suffer from depression.

There are different types of filter coffee available, and you will find many sources on the internet to read about them. You should read about their contents and which one would be the best for you.
